If we read some studies on this issue, we will realize that, for example, the World Health Organization (WHO) recommends resting at least 6 hours a day. Fortunately, there are many lifestyle adjustments you can make to combat fatigue and restore your energy. Therefore, we put at your disposal some tips that will allow you to start the day with energy. Take note, as they will influence your well-being considerably!

1.-Include good foods in your diet

To get more energy, the first thing we recommend is that you focus specifically on those foods that include magnesium and iron, such as nuts, fish or vegetables.

Breakfast is an important time, in which a small bowl of cereal or a slice of toast can jump-start your metabolism and mark the starting point for your body to wake up.

2.-Don’t eat dinner just before going to bed

The digestive process takes time. For this reason, you should try to eat every three or four hours a day, avoiding the big binges when the night comes.

Although at first it may not seem important, it is, without a doubt, one of the keys to avoid waking up tired. Keep in mind that having dinner just before going to bed will delay the moment in which we fall asleep, since the body needs a high degree of activation to be able to digest.

3.-Do not drink coffee in the afternoon

While many of us need our coffee to get through the day, drinking caffeine after 2 PM has been shown to affect sleep. Certainly, caffeine can decrease the quality and quantity of rest and consequently make you wake up tired.

If you are a coffee addict, you need not worry, as we do not intend to deprive you of your morning energy shot. We only suggest you change your habit and make sure you do not drink more caffeine after noon, so that it does not affect you when it comes to falling asleep.

4.-Do not use electronic devices

Electronic devices stimulate the mind and keep us awake. You must bear in mind that the light from these devices can alter the levels of melatonin, the hormone responsible for controlling sleep cycles.

For this reason, we recommend that before going to bed you do not use electronic devices, such as a computer or mobile phone. Instead, we recommend doing another type of activity, such as reading a book.

5.-Incorporate exercise into your daily routine

It may seem counterproductive, although it is one of the keys to avoiding waking up tired. Certainly, regular exercise can help balance hormones, improve insulin resistance, and help you fall asleep, which is important in combating a lack of energy.

Your body is made to move. Thus, lack of activity can cause  mood problems, as well as slowness and fatigue.

6.-Keep a rest schedule

One of the keys to avoiding waking up tired is to keep a set schedule for sleeping and waking up. Keep in mind that having a routine at rest lets your body know when to rest and when to be active. Likewise, maintaining a suitable schedule will help you promote a higher quality sleep, as long as you respect the minimum number of hours recommended.

Perhaps you already comply with most of these points, but if not, now you have in your hand six simple keys so that you do not wake up tired. Doing so will not only improve your quality of life, but it will also give you more energy to face the challenges you set for yourself.
