Friends Who Hug Tight And The World Breathes With Me
I don’t know how my friends got to me, I just know that they did it suddenly and at least I could believe that I could feel so lucky to have them with me. They approached me and waited long enough not to leave anymore.
And I don’t know what kind of friends other people will have either, but now I can say that I know of friends who hug tightly so that the world breathes with me. Therefore, if it has ever happened to you too, I advise you to hold on to these people in your life because I am sure they deserve everything.
In time to show me that you have to give a chance
My friends have taught me many things even without them knowing it and, perhaps, one of the most important is that thanks to them I have realized that an opportunity in time can be your best choice.
I am referring, for example, to those points in our lives where disappointments force us to shut down and make us think that the rest of the world can be the same as the people who have hurt us. That’s when your friends will be there to prove you wrong.
They will show you that the best people in your life will be those who honestly want to stay with you. Your friends will be there, whatever happens, without judging you and respecting everything that happens to you: they will be your shoulder on bad days and your big push when you want to go more slowly in life.
In time to owe you part of my smiles
To my friends I owe half of what I am: for letting it grow and for completing my growth. In the key moments of my life, especially the bad ones, they have been my smile, the one that costs so much that it makes you feel satisfied when you give it.
We all know that the sun always rises, but we appreciate it more when it has rained before. The same happens with people, as unfair as it may seem: my friends arrived in time to be sunny when it rained the most and at least I can never forget that.
In other words, surely you also know that feeling of knowing that whatever happens there will be someone with you who will know how to make you laugh. It does not matter the temporal space or the spatial time between you: near or far, that person always goes with you where you go and will always do everything possible to make your day.
Because you hug me and I am myself again
Now that I have met them and have them with me, I cannot lose them. They are my true friends: they celebrate my joys, overcome my sadness with me, they always listen when I don’t want to talk, and they always talk when I don’t want to listen to me.
They give me advice at the most opportune moments, they teach me to see the good side of things and to look with another perspective. They are the friends that everyone needs when they have free time to make it unforgettable, when the cold is too cold or when we simply want to enjoy life.
Your life is more life when your friends hug you. We return to being ourselves when we have lost ourselves and someone like them tells us: “you are, you continue to be.” Only with our friends do we breathe and only thanks to them there is always something to continue enjoying day to day.
When I met them I was not aware of what this previous phrase meant, now I know it is true: that the greatest thing you can have in your hands is that luck of having met them and of feeling happy knowing that friendship is reciprocal.
